..But why would you want to open a transport company?

An important question to consider before taking any steps.
To be independent, quite simply? For the pleasure of driving? Do you want to earn more? A more zen and balanced life?

My little story…

in May 2005, 27 years old and wanting to be independent: no matter the sector…
I met a friend I hadn’t seen for a long time at FLUNCH.
He had a GPS on the table.

WOW!! a GPS, (very rare equipment at that time)

I met him when he was unemployed two years ago and then he said to me:

I opened a transport company 1 year ago, I have trucks and earn a good living…

Super-awesome!!!!!I want to do like you, I drove 2 months in 2003 for a transport company; a cell phone with the car!! It’s cool!!!

Without further ado… I inquire about the transport capacity training… €1,300 at the time. Penniless, I find a job in animation, sell my superb 306, petrol, and find myself with a budget of around €5,000 to buy my van and take the transport capacity training….

Very enthusiastic and in a hurry, I found myself with a 190,000 km van from 1999 bought for €3,900….a GPS included of course!! And I’m off to start my
BING training!! A blow to the head: Calculation of cost price, maintenance costs, thousand kilometers.

It’s okay!! My motivation doesn’t drop too much.

I chose the least expensive status: the individual company (…) and on November 15, 2005 I finally had my domestic transport license !!!!

….And…

I know very little about transport and am a business owner without any clients or any network, with 8 months remaining on unemployment benefit at €800/month….

One evening after a workout, I read a classified ad in a kebab shop!
And poof, an ad from an express transport company looking for a subcontractor- craftsman-renter with a 3.5 T license…
Not sure, but I think he’s talking about me!!!

Get in touch with the company, meet people, they talk to me about a few cents per kilometer, I accept. And this client offers me my first ride, on December 6, 2005…

The adventure has begun….

…and still in business today for 13 years, offers subcontracted freight, manages employees, has semi-automated the company and rides for fun!

I will tell you everything you need to put in place as a strategy to have a peaceful life as a business manager in transport
management, vehicle choice, customer relations, examination, employee, etc.

 Drive for fun if you want, never be in the red,
earn more, be zen and have satisfied employees and customers.

PS: My story from the beginning is full of mistakes that you should absolutely not make. I will explain in my future articles what you need to put in place before and during your activity to avoid many of the problems that I encountered during my first years of activity.
